I was a bit hesitant about signing up for North Jersey Adventure Boot Camp when my friend told me about it as I am not a morning person. However, in the first week, I was hooked. I actually felt better throughout the day after the amazing workouts in the morning. Then came the results, I noticed a difference in my weight, inches and how I felt overall in the first month. I was amazed. I continue to sign up for each month as I am a believer in this, I have lost weight and feel so great. Also, I have lost in places that I never knew how to work out properly on my own.
I have lost around 35 pounds and many inches all over, this is the best program for women looking to lose weight and tone.
I still get people telling me how much of a difference this boot camp is making with me! And, it is from people I see on a regular basis sometimes, not just those I see every few months. So, well, you guys have made a HUGE impact in my life, and THANK YOU again!!
In the past year since joining your workouts, I have lost about 13 pounds (while creating lean muscle), reduced body fat by 2.2-3.2%, and lost 9.25 inches overall — 1.5” in my waist, 3.25” in my hips/glutes, 1” in each upper arm (tricep), and 2.25” in each thigh!
But most importantly, I feel great. Given my genetic makeup and whatever else, I have had to work to keep my weight in check (with varying degrees of success and failure) since I was in third grade.
I have never had so much fun with a consistent regimen, or felt so motivated, doing it. Yay! Thanks a million. I am surprised by the number of women and men who have told me this year that I’ve inspired them to get healthy by exercising and eating better. All part of you reaching 1 million people (and then some).

I first saw a sign for Adventure Boot Camp in the park. I was carrying a few pounds after the birth of my daughter so I thought I would look into it. The only thing concerning me was the start time. I decided to do it for 1 month to jump- start my weight loss.
Well a year later I am still enjoying Michael’s boot camp having lost my baby weight and more! I am in the best shape of my life and now love the start time. I get a great workout that is never dull and I am home to jump-start my day! Thanks to Mike!
Michaels provide a terrific experience for anyone who needs to jump-start their personal fitness goals! I am a single, full time working and very hands on mom of 2 VERY active teenage daughters. With that said you can imagine how much time I have for myself, NONE!!! Hence the excessive weight gain and feeling like I was stuck in a rut with no way out. I started my fitness journey in October 2009 and until I met Mike it was pretty much stagnant and I was just about to give up.
I was going through the motions of SOMETIMES going to the gym but found myself getting very bored by myself. With no guidance I thought walking on the treadmill for 10 minutes and doing 3 sets of 15 on a leg or arm machine was considered working out. Much to my disappointed there were no results. I was not loosing any weight, it wasn’t getting easier to wake up and I was pretty much convinced that exercise wouldn’t help either. I was 55+ pounds overweight when I heard about the their Adventure Boot Camp program and was anxious to find out more so I checked out the website and learned they were having a Boot Camp for Charity Event. Thinking it was a great was to see what it was all about I signed up. I was extremely impressed and I’ve been hooked ever since.
Mike has been and are very supportive, positive, encouraging, hard working and not only do they know who I am they know and refer to me by my name! They understand MY level of fitness and goals. They make me feel confident and positive no matter what I could or couldn’t do. I always feel encouraged to do as much as I could beyond my comfort level so I could move things forward. I get out of it what I put into it with their support. It is hard work, but fun at the same time. They are inspiring, never condescending, always positive and supportive. They are VERY professional and every camp is very well planned out and structured. I also have to say the same about my fellow boot campers, I have made some lifelong friendships! There is always someone to give you that extra “you can do it”! So far I have lost 30 lbs and I am only about 25+ pounds from reaching my GOAL weight !!!! THANK YOU Michael
I am the last person anyone would guess would go to an early morning boot camp — and love it! Too fat, too old, too out of shape, too exercise-phobic. Yet Mike is so encouraging and their exercise program so engaging and exciting that I have stunned not only my friends and family but myself by getting up earlier than the sun, heading out to the field, and making my way through a really challenging workout before most people have had their coffee.
Their Boot camp-style training has made me stronger, more confident, and ready to take on any other new challenge in my life. And yeah, I look better too!
Before I started working out with Michael, I was a sporadic exerciser. I always had the best intentions, but family life or work would always interfere. When I recently moved to a new town (Montclair), I discovered Michael’s workouts. His training program and boot camp-style workouts were something I always wanted to try because they seemed perfectly tailored to my personality – you are always doing something different.
In one workout, we will do cardio intervals, resistance training, fun agility drills and many more exercises so that you are never bored. In my first three-week session with Michael, I lost 3% body fat and over one and a half inches off of my hips. I was sold! Michael is the only person who could motivate me to work out at 5:30 am five days a week!
He is the perfect combination of friendly motivation and positivity while still challenging his clients.
Working with Michael has done more for me than given me stronger biceps and abs. I have so much more confidence, improved my sleep and eating habits and feel strong and fit. I look forward to training each morning and I now schedule everything, including vacations, around my sessions so I don’t miss a day. Michael understands how busy women and moms are and his workouts are the perfect solution!
I really owe the thanks to Michael (and fellow camper Brenda Herman for inspiring me). I have never felt so good about doing something for myself.
I started to do it for my kids…to have more energy for them at the end of a long work day….but, this has ended up being so much more for me. I love pushing myself beyond what I thought I was capable and I love that I have no guilt about it….meaning…..because of the hour of the day, I don’t miss any time with my kids….they are still asleep when I get home…..and it puts me in a much better mindset for work. I have also had a lot of personal things affect good friends / family lately (ie. Cancer, divorvce, etc) and I can think about all of it during my workout and then compartmentalize it so it doesn’t affect the rest of my day. And my husband is also grateful for the help it is lending to my shape :-).
And, Brenda inspired me to start by her great shape and tough mudders, and while I don’t aspire to that…..I will have done 3 5ks in 3 weeks which is more than I have done in the last 10 years…..but I’ll leave the possibility of a mudder open….because I never thought I would have gotten this far, this fast.
Thank you both for pushing me beyond my limits, giving me back so much self esteem, and for sharing so many of your personal stories (like Michael’s Mom)….that is what makes both of you so different from anyone I’ve ever met at any gym!

I helped my Mom Donna lose weight and body fat when I was just 18 years old, and haven’t looked back. I got my personal training and nutrition coaching certification and then pursued my bachelors and masters degrees in Physical Education, Health, Exercise Science, and Sport & Exercise Psychology.
